For most resale purchases there is no separate out of pocket fee to you as the buyer. Buyer agent compensation is negotiated and disclosed in writing before you tour a single home, and in many transactions it is still covered through the deal structure. After the 2024 changes to how agent compensation works, the most important thing is transparency, and you will always see the numbers in advance.
